I wondered, idly, as we drew nearer to it -- a hole in this empty space. It had been ages since we saw a single star in this gaping void, yet this sight was frightening while exciting. Our ship was soon to enter it, and there could be no turning back, whether a wormhole, black hole, something worse, or something better... It is time, at last. Let us enter the vortex.
